Community Code of Conduct
Our shared commitment to fostering an inclusive, high-trust, and collaborative environment for all entrepreneurs across Odisha.
01 Our Purpose & Ethos
Swabalambi Odisha is founded on the core conviction: “For the Entrepreneurs, By the Entrepreneurs.” We are a community built to break isolation, share practical business knowledge, and accelerate regional self-reliance.
To maintain a supportive environment, all members, founders, mentors, and partner representatives are expected to uphold the values outlined in this Code of Conduct.
Mutual Respect
Treat every builder with dignity regardless of business stage, sector, or background.
Generous Collaboration
Share knowledge openly, support peer problem-solving, and foster win-win alliances.
Integrity & Honesty
Be truthful about business metrics, capabilities, and professional commitments.
Inclusive Growth
Actively champion women entrepreneurs and grassroots creators across all districts.
02 Expected Behaviors
In all community channels, offline gatherings, masterclasses, and digital forums, members agree to:
- Listen & Encourage: Provide constructive, empathetic feedback when peers share business bottlenecks.
- Respect Intellectual Property: Keep sensitive business insights, financial models, and proprietary ideas shared in confidential circles strictly protected.
- Honor Commercial Commitments: Uphold timely delivery, ethical terms, and fair dealing in any inter-member business or supplier relationship.
- Welcome Diversity: Foster safe, encouraging spaces for first-time founders, student creators, and women-led enterprises.
03 Unacceptable Conduct
The following behaviors violate community trust and will not be tolerated:
- Harassment & Discrimination: Any form of verbal, physical, sexual, or discriminatory harassment based on gender, caste, religion, age, or disability.
- Aggressive Solicitation / Spamming: Unsolicited hard-selling, predatory multi-level marketing (MLM), or repetitive promotional broadcasting across founder forums.
- Misrepresentation & Fraud: Fabricating business metrics, fake funding claims, unauthorized branding, or dishonest trade practices.
- Breach of Trust: Leaking confidential peer disclosures or defaming fellow entrepreneurs and ecosystem partners.
04 Event & Meetup Guidelines
During offline events such as Chai with Entrepreneurs, regional summits, and factory visits:
- Arrive punctually and respect the time of guest operators and facilitators.
- Maintain professional decorum and adhere to facility safety regulations during industry tours.
- Give space for quieter voices to participate in group discussions and Q&A sessions.
05 Reporting & Enforcement
If you experience or witness a violation of this Code of Conduct, please notify the community governance committee immediately. All reports will be handled with strict confidentiality.
Consequences for violations may include formal warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from Swabalambi Odisha chapters, forums, and partner initiatives.
